Description
An agricultural forklift operator's job includes safely operating forklifts to load, unload, and move agricultural products like grain, produce, and supplies within storage facilities, production areas, and loading docks. Key responsibilities involve performing daily equipment checks and basic maintenance, adhering to strict health and safety regulations, tracking inventory through documentation or system entry, and assisting with general warehouse duties to ensure the efficient flow of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling:
Loading and unloading raw materials, finished products, and supplies from trucks, railcars, and delivery vehicles.
Transport & Storage:
Moving goods to and from storage areas, production lines, and other designated locations within the facility.
Equipment Operation:
Safely operating forklift trucks to stack, move, and organize various types of agricultural products and materials.
Inventory Management:
Maintaining accurate records of materials received, stored, and dispatched, often using manual or digital systems.
Maintenance & Inspections:
Conducting daily visual checks and performing basic maintenance on forklift equipment to ensure it is in safe working order.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhering strictly to company policies and government regulations, including safe operating procedures and forklift safety practices.
Warehouse Support:
Assisting with other warehouse activities such as sweeping, cleaning, and organizing storage areas to maintain a safe and orderly environment.
Perform routine pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safe and reliable functioning.
Skills & Qualifications:
Forklift Operation:
Proven experience and skill in operating industrial forklift trucks.
