Description

An agricultural salesperson sells products like seeds, fertilizers, feed, and equipment to farmers and dealers by traveling to customer locations, providing technical expertise, conducting demonstrations, and managing sales accounts to meet sales goals. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining customer relationships, educating clients on new products, understanding market conditions, and handling order processing and after-sales support to ensure customer satisfaction and drive sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Prospecting: Identify and contact prospective customers, such as farmers, co-ops, and agricultural dealers, to introduce and sell agricultural products and services.

Product Knowledge: Develop an in-depth understanding of products, including seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, animal feed, and farm machinery, to effectively explain their features and benefits.

Customer Education: Provide training and demonstrations on product use and recommend practices to improve customer production.

Field Visits: Travel to farms and customer sites within their assigned territory to build relationships and meet with clients.

Product Demonstrations: Showcase agricultural equipment or machinery and conduct field trials to demonstrate product performance.

Market Analysis: Stay informed about market conditions and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and adapt sales strategies.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey information to customers and build trust.

  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of agriculture and specific product lines.

  • Relationship Building: Ability to foster strong relationships with clients and maintain their confidence.
