Description

A Data Entry Clerk in an agricultural company enters, updates, and verifies agricultural data in digital systems, such as spreadsheets and databases, to ensure accuracy and maintain records of crop yields, livestock, inventory, and production. Key responsibilities include manually entering data, scanning documents, cross-checking entries, identifying discrepancies, generating reports, and adhering to data quality and confidentiality standards. The role requires strong attention to detail, typing skills, organizational ability, and proficiency with software like Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Input and Management:

Manually input data from various sources, such as paper forms, invoices, and surveys, into specific agricultural software, spreadsheets, and databases.

Data Verification and Quality Control:

Cross-reference entered data against original sources to ensure accuracy, correct any errors or discrepancies, and maintain high data quality standards.

Document Management:

Scan, organize, and maintain both hard and soft copies of data sheets and other relevant documents to ensure easy retrieval and auditing.

Data Logging and Reporting:

Create and maintain logs of received, cleaned, and entered data; and assist in generating reports and documents based on the data.

Data Processing:

Review and confirm data such as lot numbers, production counts, or field measurement

Data Maintenance:

Regularly update existing records and perform routine data backups to ensure the integrity and security of the agricultural database.

Data Integrity for Operations:

Ensure the integrity and accessibility of data crucial for decision-making, such as livestock records, soil analysis, and planting schedules.

Liaison and Communication:

Liaise with internal teams or external partners to gather missing data or resolve data inconsistencies.

Administrative Support:

Assist with other general administrative duties as assigned by their supervisor, supporting the overall office operations.
